Job Description:
Our company is seeking an experienced Burn Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Burn Table Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating a computer-controlled plasma or oxy-fuel cutting machine also known as a Burn Table. The ideal candidate should have experience in operating burn tables and should be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
Uses overhead cranes and forklifts to unload, store and stage raw material for processing. Verifies that the material is correct as ordered, follows practices and procedures as outlines in ISO 9001 programs.
Loads material off/onto trucks or rail cars, verifies material is correct as stated on customer’s BOL/order.
Secures material loaded on railcars.
Responsible for daily inspections of lifting and processing equipment (when needed).
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate the burn table as per the technical drawings provided
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Determine the correct cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut for each job
Ensure that the burn table is properly maintained and kept clean
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
Ensure that the parts cut meet the specifications provided by the engineering team
Work in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety procedures and regulations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a burn table/Water Jet/Laser
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Experience with computer-controlled plasma or oxy-fuel cutting machines
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Good communication skills
Strong attention to detail
