Aerotek Lead Maintenance Technician in South Plainfield, New Jersey
Position: Lead Mechanic
Shift: 1st
Pay: $38-$43/hr.
Location: South Plainfield, NJ
Responsibilities:
Perform repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical (gearboxes, conveyors, motors), pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
Identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
Fabricate, and repair parts by welding and using machine shop instrumentation and equipment (lathes, milling machines, presses, grinders, cutters).
Install, assemble, and fabricate new machines, equipment, and parts in a manufacturing plant.
Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance and service for production equipment (ovens, extruders, molding machines, gearboxes, air compressors, forklifts, hydraulic presses).
Able to follow procedures, work instructions, and engineering specifications (drawings, manuals, sketches).
Perform building and facility maintenance.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to install or replace motors, heaters, sensors, and contactors.
Organizes and oversees schedules and work orders of maintenance staff. Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
Oversee and enforce good record-keeping practices (CMMS).
Mentors/trains maintenance technicians.
Responsible for the organization of maintenance/machine shop and spare part inventory.
