Job Title: Press Operator
Job Description
Set up and operate flexographic sleeve machines according to job specifications. Monitor and adjust sleeve machines. Load and unload cores and finished product. Responsible for job set ups and changeovers. Follow job specifications and meet customer and company quality specifications. Perform quality checks throughout production. Tone inks as needed. Maintain safe work area. Complete production reports. Work directly with assistant to maintain production, quality, and safety goals.
Hard Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to use and read a tape measure
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to read and write
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work occasional overtime
Machine operation experience
Soft Skills
Ability to maintain a safe work area
Ability to complete production reports
Ability to work directly with assistants
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Ames, Iowa.
Work Environment
This is a smaller family-owned and operated company that has very low turnover. The majority of the staff has been with the company for 5+ years. They are accommodating to personal family matters but expect the team to work hard while they are at work. Dress Code: steel toe boots, jeans/work pants with no holes, t-shirt. The company provides PPE: safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection. 1st Shift Schedule: 5-1 & 2nd shift is 1-9
