Aerotek Knife Setter in Athens, Alabama

Knife Setter

3rd shift, 9:45 PM - 6:15 AM

Athens, AL

$16/hr and will go up to $20/hr after 320hrs are worked

Description

  • Setting up and adjusting knives, blades, or cutting tools on various types of machines such as saws, lathes, milling machines, or grinders.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications to determine the correct settings for the knives.

  • Using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, or gauges to ensure accurate setup.

  • Inspecting knives for sharpness, wear, or damage, and replacing or sharpening them as needed.

  • Monitoring machine operations to ensure knives are cutting materials properly and making adjustments as necessary.

  • Collaborating with machine operators or production supervisors to optimize cutting processes and minimize downtime.

  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Maintaining records of knife settings, adjustments, and maintenance activities for documentation and reference purposes.

Qualifications:

Must be able to do physical labor

Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs

Must be able to work in non climate controlled facility
