Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team. The primary focus will be MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum for internal car wash components. This role involves short-run production welding, with projects varying in size from 20 to 100 pieces per order. Candidates must be capable of flat welding steel and aluminum, and while experience in roll welding is preferred, we can provide training. Materials range from 3/8" to 1/2" and 1/8" to 1/2" in thickness. Additional duties include cutting future materials on a band saw during downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company work standards

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Take pride in the quality of your work and servicing customers

  • Work closely with other team members to accurately fulfill customer orders on time

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Perform inventory cycle counts and provide other area support as needed

  • Continuously identify, measure, follow and improve area processes

  • Housekeeping as it applies to job or work area

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

  • 3 years MIG welding on steel and aluminum (open to less experience if skill is demonstrated in a weld test)

  • Experience welding 1/8" to 1/2" material

  • Blueprint reading

  • Fitting experience

  • Experience converting decimals to fractions (a chart is available at work stations)

  • Experience using a flat disk and chipper tools to grind down welds

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with TIG welding

  • Additional blueprint reading experience

  • Additional fitting experience

Work Environment

Work in a large welding and metal cutting facility in Auburn. The single shift is from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with the potential for an additional hour of overtime each day once experienced. The workweek typically ranges from 40 to 45 hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
