Aerotek Wood Assembler in Benicia, California

Description:

The Assembly/Prep person will be responsible for construction of subassemblies and final assemblies of customer products. Will also operate a variety of assembly and machining equipment, including saws, nail guns, drills and clamps. Additionally, the Assembly/Prep person will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Skills:

Hand tool, tape measure, heavy lifting, Woodworking, Drywall hanging, Framing, Installation, Cabinet making, Cabinetry, Finish carpentry

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:

• Maintain a safe work environment and compliance with company safety policies.

• Read and follow fixture CAD drawings to ensure consistency and design standards are met.

• Inspect parts and log rejects for compliance with company and customer quality standards.

• Ensure completion of daily parts prepping for production.

• Assemble and/or prep fixtures for final assembly and/or subassemblies, ensuring correct fit

• Alerts supervisor of any assembly problems w/ details, and provide any possible solutions.

• End of day cleanup of workbench/station and/or immediate area.

• Report daily completion records to Assembly Lead and/or Floor Manager.

• Perform other job-related duties or other assigned tasks and projects as directed by supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure to 1/16” increments.

• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.

• Basic computer skills are desirable.

• Must be able to find and download program files from a network server.

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude.

• Must be able to load and unload 4’ x 8’ sheets of plywood material on to machine table.

• Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate effectively with other team members.
