Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Forklift Operator, starting as a Shipper/Receiver and Order Picker in our new facility. Your role will involve operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift in narrow aisle rooms, loading and unloading trailers, and handling heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. as you will be dealing with boxes full of produce. You will be responsible for accurately loading and unloading trailers for internal transfers, using RF scanners to verify orders, and ensuring attention to detail throughout the process. Additionally, you will manage a significant amount of paperwork, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills.
Hard Skills
2 years of sit-down counterbalance forklift experience
Experience working in narrow spaces such as trailers and aisles
Comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Proficiency in using RF scanners
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills both verbal and written
Work Environment
ENVIRONMENT: Work in a cooler with temperatures ranging from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, adhering to food safety regulations. PPE required includes steel-toe boots covering the ankles.
CULTURE: Supportive management with an 'open door' policy.
TEAM SIZE: Approximately 30 people per shift.
SHIFT: 2x Day shift from 5 am - 1:30 pm, driving required.
