Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Description

We are currently looking for a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic with specialized experience in aircraft sheet metal work to join our Aircraft Restoration team. This role primarily involves metal forming, spot welding, as well as general aircraft tear-down and rebuild tasks. A key part of the job will be restoring WWII Warbird airframe components, repairing and fabricating new parts from original parts, blueprints, and engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will be adept at performing true hands-on assembly and fabrication work, utilizing multiple techniques for forming parts out of 2024 aluminum alloy. An in-depth understanding of the annealing process and proficiency with metal bending equipment beyond a brake and a press are essential. Candidates should possess journeyman level knowledge of riveting and be skilled in proper disassembly techniques.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cameron Park, California.

Work Environment

The selected candidate will be joining a smaller, close-knit team comprised of 8 employees and 6 fabricators. Our facility is dedicated to the meticulous art of aircraft restoration, specializing in revitalizing the legendary World War II Corsair Aircraft to airworthy status.
