Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

We are looking for a General Production Worker for our large-scale facility located in Carleton. Our company specializes in the production and shipment of glass for diverse applications, including windows and skyscrapers. The successful candidate will be responsible for general labor tasks, primarily revolving around the packing and handling of our glass products. Key duties include picking glass up off the production line and racks, preparing glass for shipment, and utilizing specialized equipment (known as 'zimming') to assist in handling the glass. The role involves working with glass, which may occasionally break near and around you, so candidates must be comfortable with this risk, although proper Personal Protective Equipment will be provided. This role operates on a rotating schedule, requiring availability every other weekend, with an average of 45 hours per week across 6 days.

Shift Timings:

6am - 6pm (rotating 36/48 hour work weeks - this schedule requires working every other weekend) x2

AVERAGE HOURS: 45 hours per week. Working 6 days per week.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Carleton, Michigan.

Work Environment

Our facility is vast and industrial, with a garage-like feel. It does not feature climate control, so it can become very hot during the summer months due to the machinery and two large furnaces. The environment can also be dusty and dirty. Despite these challenging conditions, we pride ourselves on our strong company culture that values individuals and their unique capabilities. For safety, candidates are required to wear a long-sleeve Kevlar packing suit, a neck guard, and a hard hat with a face shield for the first 90 days. After 90 days, the neck guard and face shield are only required when packing larger sizes or above shoulders. The packing suite is always required.
