Aerotek Painter in Carson, California
Description: APPLY TODAY WILL CALL SAME DAY!
• Proper preparation of surfaces and application of painting materials to a variety of exterior surfaces.
• Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
• Apply primer and undercoat uniformly.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for minor damage repairs
• Treat scratched and chipped areas with plastic or liquid filler
• Apply paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces, such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, and other parts while surrounding areas are spray-painted
• Tapes the truck bodies up using tape, paper and plastic bags
• Smooth unmasked surfaces with sandpaper removing gloss from previous coats of paint
• Sand rough spots
• After truck body is painted, remove masking tape, and clean vehicle
• Move vehicle to designated area for buffing
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Conduct color-matching, priming, mixing paint and top coating for truck bodies
• Locate and remove imperfections on panels prior to painting
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies
• Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Start up and stop equipment.
• Feed or place items onto equipment for processing
• Assist with production line in factories.
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris.
• Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
• Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
