Aerotek CNC Machinist in Cedar Park, Texas

Hiring CNC Machinists - $30-46/hr.

Job Description:

Join our innovative space transportation company dedicated to providing economical and convenient access to space for small payloads. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for the creation of various aerospace and rocket parts, ranging from nuts and bolts to full components like thrust chambers. This role involves working with multiple materials including copper, aluminum, steel, and hard carbon. You will ensure high-quality production, adhere to safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This role requires precision and adherence to safety standards while maintaining high-quality output. Hiring for FIRST SHIFT and SECOND SHIFT

1st Shift- Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM

Friday- 6AM-2:30PM

2nd Shift- Monday-Thursday 4PM-2:30AM

Friday- 2PM-10PM

PAY:

$30 - $46/hr based on interview, experience, and skills*

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Machine high quality parts

• Read and follow technical drawings and diagrammed instructions

• Inspect and document one’s own manufactured parts

• Perform machine set ups for part manufacturing

• Perform edits as needed

• Abide by all safety standards

• Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately

• Keep all work areas clean and organized

• Hold oneself to a high standard of quality, taking pride in one’s work

• Be available to work 1st or 2nd shifts, overtime as needed

Required:

• Min. 6+ years experience as a CNC Machinist. NEED TO HAVE 4 AND 5 AXIS MILL AND LATHE EXPERIENCE

• Needs to have Mazak experience and preferably Mazatrol conversational programming, or DMG Mori experience with Celos conversational programming

• Experience working with multiple materials to produce high tolerance complex components/parts

• Able to perform physically demanding work—standing, bending, lifting 25 lbs. regularly

• Strong experience with machine set ups, change overs, tooling edits, and conversational programming

• Good communication skills, written and verbal

• Good math skills

• Solid computer skills

Desired:

• Mazak experience

• 4 and 5 axis machine experience

• Mill/Turn experience

• DMG Mori experience

• Okuma experience

Work Environment:

  • The position is primarily for the 2nd shift, which runs Monday-Thursday from 4PM to 2:30AM and Friday from 2PM to 10PM.

  • The work environment includes both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas.

  • Candidates should be prepared for a 48-50 hour workweek, with optional Saturday work that is encouraged.

  • Expect 48-50 hours every week with a change for even more on Saturdays. Saturday work is optional, but encouraged.
