Job Title: Assembler B - D81-Assembly
Job Description
Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations. The role requires the ability to select correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, and hardware. Responsibilities include shimming, installing, fitting, fastening, aligning, adjusting and performing the necessary pre-installation assembly work to accomplish the installation of structural components. This position demands adherence to specific production and engineering prints to determine exact locations. It is essential to report job constraints such as errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, and sequences in accordance with procedures. The role also involves performing repairs, rework, functional checks and the incorporation of authorized changes as outlined by the Lead. You are also required to remove and/or replace installed components and any related parts.
Hard Skills
Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions, and instructions
Basic computer systems and programs knowledge
Experience with close tolerance holes in composites, Tool indexing, Gap measurement
Soft Skills
Safety consciousness
Excellent housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards
Ability to stand for long periods and work in elevated and/or confined spaces
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in NORTH CHARLESTON, SC.
Work Environment
The position is part of large teams and requires flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts as needed. Typical shift times are 5:30am-2pm, 2:30pm-11pm, and 11pm-6am. The role involves occasional lifting of 21-35 pounds, frequent overhead work, exposure to noise, and use of personal protective gear.
