Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Welder with a minimum of four years of experience in electric arc, gas shielded arc, and gas welding. The ideal candidate will be adept at executing welds in complex physical positions and with various types of metals and alloys, including pipes, structural forms, plates, sheet metal, bar stock, machinery, and equipment. The candidate must pass performance tests and possess all necessary certifications as per American Welding Society standards and other regulatory bodies. This includes certifications such as Occupational Safety/Haz-Mat, Confined Space Entry, and when applicable, Shipyard Competent Person Certification or Man Aloft Certification (Climber Certification). The candidate must also meet the qualifications under NAVSEA TECH PUB S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 for plate and pipe welding on non-nuclear systems.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Work Environment

The position is based in a shipyard, operating Monday through Friday with 10-hour days and Saturdays for 8 hours. The shift starts at 6 AM, but times may vary based on production needs. The role involves working in various conditions including confined spaces and heights when required.
