EDM Operator

Job Description

As an EDM Operator, your primary responsibilities will include performing required operations on EDM machines such as loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, electrode preparation and changing. You will also be responsible for cleaning, performing preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of EDM machines. Other duties will include preparing various logs, entering required data into computer, moving/transporting parts to appropriate locations, maintaining safe, clean and orderly work areas, preparing labor sheets and non-conformance forms, and interacting with various groups and individuals within the organization. You will be trained to set up and switch jobs as required. You are expected to produce more than 98% efficiency on a daily basis, maintaining an excellent attendance, verifying all parts are conforming before signing off on the traveler, and keeping track of all scrap and seeking corrective action.

Work Environment

In this role, you will be required to regularly stand, use your hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. You must be able to work in confined spaces and in an office environment using a computer for about 10% of the work day. You should be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. The role requires specific vision abilities including close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud, and you will be required to use personal protective equipment.
