Aerotek Machining Area Lead in Coldwater, Michigan
Job Description
The Machining Area Lead will oversee 2-4 machinists, ensuring proper machine setups, tooling, and offsets for product runs. This role involves troubleshooting and setting up CNC machines for operators, making and adjusting offsets, changing tooling, reading blueprints, and overseeing part quality. The Machining Area Lead will also be responsible for training new associates on equipment operation and quality measurements. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate work and safety procedures, observe work, monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators, and recommend or implement measures to motivate associates and improve production methods and equipment.
Hard Skills
2-3 years of manufacturing and leadership experience
2+ years of CNC machining and set up experience
Experience in a team lead manufacturing role
CNC troubleshooting experience
Soft Skills
Ability to train and motivate team members
Experience in monitoring and ensuring quality control
Ability to read blueprints
Experience in implementing measures to improve production methods and equipment
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Coldwater, Michigan.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will support the machining side of a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer in a non-union, multi-craft environment. The working hours will either be 2nd shift: 3:30 pm to 11 pm or 3rd Shift: 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Minimal overtime is typically required, working 40-45 hours a week from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work for overtime.
