Manual Machinist Needed
Hours: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and weekend available
Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various machining tools and equipment to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machining processes and a proven track record of producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
Perform precision machining of materials such as metal, plastic, and composites to tight tolerances
Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process
Maintain and clean machining tools and equipment
Collaborate with colleagues to improve machining processes and techniques
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Manual Machinist
Proficiency in setting up and operating machining equipment
Strong knowledge of machining processes and techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Solid understanding of measuring tools and instruments
Excellent problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and precision
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods of time
Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines in a machining environment
