Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to uphold the maintenance of production machines and equipment at a dynamic manufacturing facility. This role requires proficiency in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, including but not limited to working with hot stamping presses, lasers, gears, welding (MIG & TIG), light fabrication (basic shop tools), hydraulics, pneumatics, and pipe fitting. Electrical expertise should encompass 480v systems, PLCs, ladder logic, motor installation, hydraulic circuits, AC/DC, proximity switches, limit switches, and combination starters. Candidates will engage in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and documentation of work orders under the direction of the shift supervisor. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude, honesty, and proactive work ethic. The position requires flexibility in shift hours due to a union bid system, with availability for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

This is a fully on-site position in Detroit, Michigan.

Work Environment

The facility operates with a unionized workforce and encompasses a diverse team of 190 hourly employees, 35 salaried employees, and 5-20 contractors/temporary staff. Production includes safety-critical components for leading automotive brands across 6 hot stamping lines, 4 blanking presses, and 23 5-axis laser cutting machines. The plant emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards (IATF16949, ISO9001:2015, ISO-14001). Typical work weeks span Monday to Saturday, averaging 55-65 hours, with shifts potentially varying by seniority due to the union bid system.
