Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and repairing industrial centrifuges, with a particular focus on gearboxes. Ideal candidates will have experience with small engines, such as motorcycle mechanics or RC cars. Your expertise in troubleshooting mechanical systems and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and diagrams will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities
Build and repair industrial centrifuges, focusing on gearboxes.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
Interpret and utilize blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for repairs and builds.
Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
Overhaul and repair engines.
Maintain and repair heavy equipment.
Utilize both hand and power tools effectively.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician.
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with small engines.
Experience in engine overhaul and repair.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Diesel school or automotive education is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a clean and organized shop with 25-30 colleagues. Collaborate closely with other departments. The position is for the 2nd shift, from 10am-8pm, Monday to Thursday. Steel or composite toe boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00
