Aerotek Machine Operator in Elgin, Illinois

Job Title: Machine Operator 2nd and 3rd Shift

Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Operator and take on the responsibility of setting up and operating high-speed printing press machinery. You will be instrumental in ensuring that we maintain efficient operations with minimal downtime and setup times, while consistently producing a quality product for our customers. Your duties will include operating the machine, limiting scrap waste, collecting sheets to expedite processes, practicing safe lockout/tagout procedures, following accurate reporting protocols, assisting in machine setups, and maintaining the machinery through in-depth cleaning schedules.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with high-speed machinery operation

  • Ability to setup and operate printing press machines

  • Knowledge of production order and basic corrugated terminology

  • Proficient in lockout/tagout safety procedures

  • Experience in mechanical functionality and maintenance of machinery

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Elgin, Illinois.

Work Environment

Our facility spans 550,000 square feet and is equipped with over $30 million in state-of-the-art technology. While the facility is not climate-controlled and can be warmer during summer months, it is well-ventilated. Safety is a priority, so you will be required to wear steel toes, safety vests, glasses, ear protection, and a hard hat. The space is extensive, ensuring you stay active throughout your shift. Currently, we operate in two main areas: the Converting Department and the Corrugating Department.
