Job Title: Accessioner

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Accessioner, where you will play a crucial role in clinical specimen accessioning. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include using a hand scanner to scan barcodes on Chain of Custody forms, checking for accuracy on computer screens, sorting samples, entering patient information into our database, and preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing. Additionally, you will be responsible for unpacking and routing specimens to staging areas, identifying and labeling specimens, as well as packing and shipping specimens to testing facilities. You will also prepare and store excess specimen samples for future testing.

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Gretna, Louisiana.

Work Environment

This role is based in a toxicology testing facility located on the West bank of New Orleans. The specific department for accessioning is a large room where approximately 20-30 employees work on the floor. Your tasks will involve separating and sorting samples, including urine or drug test samples, and organizing them to be sent to different departments. The work environment involves working in somewhat close quarters with other team members.
