Aerotek Senior Machinist in Hayward, California

Description:

You unlock the potential of precision machining. As a Sr. Machinist and CNC Programmer, you will develop complex parts and optimize machining processes for production manufacturing. You will work closely with engineers to meet demanding standards and drive production excellence. Your expertise in tolerance, fixture design, and more will make an impact on mission critical solutions.

-Program multi axis lathes and 4 axis mills. -Use Mastercam CAM software package to plan processes and develop fixturing, tooling and machine programs. -Keep programming and design software updated. -Provide simple and complex written and spoken communication links. -Review Processes within the department and monitor on a continuous basis for effectiveness and possible improvements. -Schedule, track, and monitor projects. -3D modeling. -Participate in quoting machined parts. -Other duties may be assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have experience in performing general maintenance activities and machining operations • Responsible for providing support to development, engineering and manufacturing • This support includes both internal fabrication and modification of mechanical components • Making high precision parts and working closely with other team members in a fast paced environment • Precision measuring and inspection • Interpret and understand technical drawings and CAD files • Operate CNC Machine and other shop equipment • Assist in fabricating prototype components and assemblies in support of product development with other team members • Modify production materials as required per rework instructions • Machining small and intricate parts from various metals and other materials • Proficiency in setting up and operating lathes, millers, grinders, and other machining equipment • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail and ability to work to precise tolerances • Knowledge of various machining operations, including turning, milling, facing, grinding, and tapering
