Job Title: NDT Level II
Job Description
We are seeking experienced NDT Level II inspectors with documented qualification/certification to the Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later. Candidates must have passed written general theory and procedure-specific examinations for the applicable method(s) and practical examinations demonstrating their ability to operate necessary NDT equipment, and record and analyze resultant information. Inspectors must have a minimum of 4 years of documented current experience as a certified inspector in the applicable inspection method(s).
Responsibilities
Perform MT inspections on structural welds in a shop environment.
Climb, crawl, and perform minor grinding for relevancy checks during the MT inspection process.
Operate necessary NDT equipment and analyze the resultant information.
Pass practical examinations for applicable methods.
Adhere to OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
Maintain current certification documentation including training and experience records, examination results, and vision test records.
Pass additional vision exams as required.
Essential Skills
Documented qualification/certification to the Level II requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later.
Minimum of 4 years of documented current experience as a certified inspector in the applicable inspection method(s).
Passed written general theory and procedure-specific examinations for the applicable method(s).
Passed practical examinations demonstrating ability to operate necessary NDT equipment.
Passed a visual acuity exam using Jaeger 1 letters at a distance of not less than 12 inches within the last year.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Safety Harness and Respirator qualified.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
Ability to distinguish between various colors (for MT inspectors).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb vertical ladders, and crawl in tanks and confined spaces.
Not afraid of heights.

Work Environment
Work will be performed on a Navy vessel or in a shop environment. Candidates must be able to work any shift: 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), 2nd shift (3:30-11pm), and 3rd shift (11pm-7am). The shipyard is located in Southeast Virginia, spanning over 5 miles long, with hot and muggy conditions during the summer and cool weather during the winter. Inspectors should be prepared for physical tasks including climbing, crawling, and working in confined spaces.
