Aerotek Machine Operator in Kent, Washington
Machine Operator
Entry Level
No direct experience necessary, must be comfortable operating machinery and power tools, be very safety conscience, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Pay: $20hr-21hr (Swing shift differential 25 cents and night shift 35 cents union) can earn $2-$6 per hour on amount of product produced after training if working in the galvanizing department.
Swing shift: 3pm-11pm/ Night Shift 11pm-7:30am/ 12 days and 2 days off . Couple of day shift openings (7am-3:30pm)
High School Diploma preferred.
Job Description
Swing Shift: 3pm - 11pm, every other weekend off
Night Shift: 11pm - 7:30am, every other weekend off
Operating large industrial machinery to produce various types of wire
Machines fabricate the different types of wire including specialty wire, galvanized and more
This is a very organized but heavy industrial environment, it can get loud and it can get dirty
The Machine Operators will be responsible for working in Fabric, Wire Draw, Field Fence, Furnaces, or Galvanizing. Candidates will need to be comfortable working on extremely large machines that primarily cut, splice, extend, and galvanize wire of various thickness.
Extremely high attention to detail since wire is constantly getting moved by forklifts, run at various heights in/out of machines, and 2 ton spindles are moved throughout the warehouse. Must be comfortable operating machinery and lifting up to 50lbs. Davis wire is organized but not the cleanest environment so ideally someone who doesn't mind getting dirty.

Work Environment
Large wire fence manufacturer. Because of galvanized wire processes, their is a "funky, stinky" odor that is always in the air. It is NOT TOXIC and the chemical team runs tests on the fumes to insure safety.
The air is hazy because of the amount of machines that are constantly running. Hot in the summer/Cold in the winter.
