Job Title: Operation Technician

Job Description

Join our team as an Operation Technician working 3 1/2 days on and 3 1/2 days off, rotating between night and day shifts every 2 1/2 months. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining the exterior and interior components of mechanical sampling systems, preparation equipment, and work areas. You will use compressed air, water, or hand or powered tools as directed by management. Additionally, you will frequently observe equipment during operational and static conditions to assess performance and condition, record and assess sample ratio data, record weights, tonnages, equipment parameters, loading sequence tracking, and sample identification tags.

Hard Skills

  • Understanding, reading, and writing in English

  • Basic mathematics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Data-entry skills

  • Effective email and text communication

  • Legible handwriting

  • Ability to use a calculator

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

  • Capability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, and ascending/descending ladders

  • Comfort working on uneven or unstable surfaces

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Newport News , Virginia.

Work Environment

This role requires exposure to various weather conditions, including significant temperature changes and precipitation. The position involves extensive periods of physical activities such as walking, standing, and moving on uneven surfaces. The work environment can be very hot or very cold depending on the season and is typically outdoor and dirty.
