Job Title: Chemical Operator

Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious individual to manage equipment and semi-automatic processes for chemical substances used in industrial or consumer products. Responsibilities include inspecting work areas and equipment for leaks or malfunctions, shutting down equipment when necessary, and notifying maintenance or engineering. The role involves operating sit-down forklifts to move materials, handling barrels, drums, vials, or totes for down packing and chemical processing. Initially, the candidate will focus on labeling products, using computer software to enter and verify product content, volume, and usage. Tasks also include weighing and measuring various quantities of solids, powders, and liquids, working with valves, pressure, and gaseous material monitoring, maintaining mechanical and electronic systems, observing chemical reactions, monitoring gauges and recorders, and making control setting adjustments. The candidate will also develop initiatives to improve quality, cleanliness, safety, and productivity. The role requires lifting 50-75lbs and moving barrels manually as needed. Candidates must be open to being clean-shaven or shaving for respirator tests if required.

This is a permanent position.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean chemical processing facility where respirators are only required during specific processing tasks. The facility is climate-controlled, focusing on the production of liquids and powders.
