Aerotek Chemical Operator in North Chesterfield, Virginia
Description:
Candidate tends equipment and semiautomatic processes for chemical substances in industrial or consumer products
Inpect work areas and equipment to detect leaks or malfunctions, shut equipment down when necessary and notify maintenance or engineering
Candidate will operator sit down forklifts to move materials upon completion, or bring barrels, drums, vials, or totes to the equipment for down packing and chemical processing
Candidate will eventually become operators; however they will predominantly start in labeling product, using their Computer software to enter and verify product content, volume, and usage, and provide that information to the operators for chemical mixing
Candidate will weigh and measure various quantities of solids, powders, and liquids into heating vessels or blending tanks. Candidate will work with valves, pressure, and gaseous material monitoring.
Candidate must be able to maintain mechanical and electronic systems as it relates to vacuum levels and observe chemical reactions, monitor and document gauges, signals, and recorders and receive notifications from the lab supervisor or other employees on changes needed in the process.
Candidate will make control setting adjustments to equipment, and must be able to affect speed of chemical reactions for quality product output.
Able to lift 50-75lbs and move barrels by hand as required
Candidate must be willing to be clean shaven or willing to shave a beard in the event they want to have us set up a respirator test if they are around any chemicals and prefer to wear one. It is not required in most cases AND they can wear a full hood respirator if they don't want to shave
