Aerotek Cnc Machinist in O Fallon, Missouri
Description:
Responsible for CNC shape cutting parts of aerospace work stands and tooling through machining practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Machining of products using standard shop procedures, mechanical drawings, and other written or verbal instructions. Performs a variety of tasks and works under direct supervision. Looking for someone with Mazak expereince.
• Set up fixturing and precision measuring equipment to produce an acceptable first piece.
• Prepare tooling, fixturing, gauges, materials, and paperwork.
• Complete all necessary documentation per company policy for first piece approval.
• Keep machinery and work area clean, safe, maintained and organized.
• Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of WB Industries and its customers.
• Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
• Perform sharpening tasks, offsets and adjustments based on tool wear within current program.
• Measure and check parts.
• Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
• Improve on product throughput via additional operations i.e. multiple machine operation, de-burring, cleaning, etc.
• Program machine, fixturing, material, and paperwork preparation such as sharpening, locating, verifying, programming, editing, etc.
• Set-up and proof CNC machines for runs to achieve a first piece quality product.
• Set-Up Times and Run-Times: monitor for accuracy and provide necessary changes to Department Supervisor.
• Monitor condition of job specific tooling or holding fixtures, make authorized changes as needed/directed.
• Suggest and implement improvements to machining process.
• Responsible to write, create and test CNC programs.
• Ensure the produced CNC programs are optimized.
• Performs adjustments to adhere to established specifications or revisions.
