Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. You will be working adjacent to the plating department on machines that cut steel beams, in a new location dedicated to fabrication rather than just distribution. Your role includes operating a CNC plasma cutter, setting up the programs on the CNC, following manufacturing guidelines and company policies, performing daily preventative maintenance on equipment, and working under minimal supervision. You will also handle materials via crane after they are fabricated, check all cut products, and manage our inventory system using warehouse computers. In addition, you may operate a forklift and assist in unloading flatbed trailers.

Hard Skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure and blueprints

  • CNC Operator experience

  • Experience in setting up CNC programs

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Petersburg, Virginia.

Work Environment

You will be working in a brand new, well-lit facility. Initially, you will be working on a day shift but will eventually move to a second shift after a 60-90 days training period. The facility is not climate controlled and will be hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The position requires both indoor and outdoor work as steel beams are stored in the yard. The shift runs from 7am-3pm, and you must be flexible to work overtime and on Saturdays if required. The role requires physical agility to get on and off equipment for changeovers, and to bend, stoop, squat, and manipulate in between pieces of equipment to rig materials.
