Aerotek Machining Operator in Petersburg, Virginia
Description:
Candidates in hire level machining Operator roles will set up, operate, disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
Candidate will read blueprints or sketches or computer aided designs and computer aided manufacturing files
· Display a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
· Build fixtures for machining parts and monitor the feed and speed of equipment
· Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications and maintain tolerances.
· Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
· Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects.
· Smooth the surfaces of parts or products to specifications.
· Present finished workpieces to customers and make modifications, if needed.
