Aerotek TIG Welder in Rockford, Illinois
Our client, a leader in their manufacturing industry, is looking to add multiple welders to their operations. They have openings on 1st and 2nd shift within their operation. We are looking for individuals who have experience or their certification in welding. These positions are long term/permanent job openings due to increases in business.
Description:
Candidates in the job will be working in a custom job shop welding environment welding metal parts together according to layouts, blueprints, and work orders. Primary for this welder will be TIG on sheet metal and machine guarding. Welders need to be able to set their own welders, wire size according to material thickness and grade. They will also be inspecting their own work before sending their part to the next step of the process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to do basic shop math (Add and subtract down to 1/16 or 1/32)
Able to read blueprints for custom projects
Basic hand tool knowledge
Fill out inspection sheets when finished with welds
Welder/Fitter –
Welder only – Heavy plate welding with cored wire AWS D1.1 Cert would be nice
Fitter – able to take parts from start to finish (will train to their needs) Needs experience in fitting or fab somewhere.
