Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

As a Mechanic, you will start each shift by reviewing a list of trailers categorized as green tagged (ready to go) or red tagged (requiring repairs). Green tagged trailers require a general checklist assessment, including verifying functioning lights and operational doors. Red tagged trailers need more extensive repairs, which may involve issues from tires to burnt out light bulbs. Your daily tasks will include repairing various trailer parts such as outer panels, side rails, inner panels, roof bows, cross members, floors, doors, hinges, plates, wheels, tire drums, ABS brakes, electrical systems, lift gates, hydraulics, and air bags. Additionally, you will perform stick welding, preventative maintenance, diagnose trailer issues, write reports, and fill out request forms for necessary parts. Each day, you will work on approximately 3-8 trailers.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 7 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Romeoville, Illinois.

Work Environment

The position requires flexibility in shift start times with a 40-hour work week, providing 24/7 support. Shifts start between 6am-8am, 2pm-4pm, and 8pm-10pm. You will initially work alongside another mechanic until fully trained, after which you will mostly work independently. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in a state-of-the-art maintenance facility and requires steel toe boots and safety glasses, with a uniform provided.
