Job Title: VC-25B Structures Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking structures mechanics to support the VC-25B Program in San Antonio, TX. The selected candidate will maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. They will also apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment condition and operation. The incumbent will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. They will also be responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Hard Skills

  • 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience

  • Experience in close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures

  • Knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and replacement of parts

  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair

  • Working knowledge of technical publications

  • Proficient in accessing and manipulating computer systems for work instructions, drawings, and training

  • Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment

Soft Skills

  • Ability to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language

  • Ability to handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material

  • Ability to obtain and maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities

  • Ability to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 9+ Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in SAN ANTONIO, TX.

Work Environment

This position will require the ability to obtain customer approval for access. The work environment will involve exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms and use of personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required. The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds. Occasional contact with metals and frequent exposure to noise is expected. All candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd.
