Description:

• Set up advanced CNC machinery; such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc.

• Operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, accessories, and tools for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.

• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation

• Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts.

• Perform first piece and in-process inspection

• Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance

• Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.

• Given routine set-ups and adjustments using simple offsets with only limited supervision, demonstrate competency in the set-up and operation of CNC and manual mills, lathes, EDM, grinders, ECG, and/or mill-turns.

• Adjust tool wear offsets, adjust work (fixture) offsets, and safely perform mid-program starts

• Possess a basic understanding of the mechanical steps required to install and align the designated tools and hardware for metal cutting/fabricating operations.

• Possess the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, read and interpret blueprints, apply shop math and basic metrology tools and have the ability to learn the more advanced metrology skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience setting up basic CNC production equipment.

• Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience operating advanced CNC production equipment.

• Ability to operate complex production machinery and related equipment.

• Ability to lead, direct and train others on task that will be performed.

• Ability to assist in diagnosis and repair of malfunctioning machines.

• Ability to follow written/verbal directions.
